Ok, sorry for the 6 days delay… I swear next page will be there tomorrow, with a new character!

Another page is up, and it’s another black and white page, but we’ll see Ljuobomir wonderful colors very soon.

I must confess something about the nature of this comic.

I know writing is about planning, knowing where the story is going, rewriting.

That’s what I usually do, write and rewrite and rerewrite from the beginning to the end, until I’ve got the feeling that I’ve said what I want to.

But this comic is different.

I wrote the pages in batches of 6-7, more or less, and I discovered what was going to happen next page by page. Now I know how this first episode (Escalated) will end, even because J.C. drew all the pages, Ljubomir is coloring them, and I’ve dialogued and lettered almost them all. But I still don’t know what we’ll happen in the next episode. I don’t even know if there will be a next episode, and if the title of this comic will be Evil Wannabes, The Evil Wannabes, Wannabes, Wannado or WannaIdon’tknow.

Evil Wannabes is born as an exercise, practice, because I wanted something out to be read and I wanted to create a comic. The lack of planning caused a few problems (I’ve already cut away some pages, and I’ll cut more panel for the printed version), but I’m pretty satisfied by the outcome.

J.C. Grande and Ljubomir Babic did a wonderful job, giving life to this characters that I’m learning to know together with you readers.

We “created” them, and we put them in this escalating situation, watching their reactions.

So, what I think, it’s that yes, writing is about planning and having control on the story, but I’m really enjoying this  “free-style”  method that’s giving the characters the freedom to be as they really are.

Welcome to the 28th installation of “Evil Wannabes”, and to a little ufficial pause we’re taking (not of those delays of mine…).

J.C. will send me the last 20 installments of this 1st issue in a few days, I’ll forward them to Lubjomir for coloring (and I’ll letter them while waiting). This will take a bit, 2 weeks, I guess, but we’ll post some black and white pages, while waiting for the colors.
